Valeč (Třebíč Region) - Among the top five construction projects in the Vysočina region for the past year, experts have included the municipal baths in Nové Město na Moravě, the production area of Isobast in Moravské Budějovice, and the renovated Palackého náměstí in Počátky, which also received the most votes from the public. The titles of Building of the Year for the Vysočina Region were also awarded to two projects in Třebíč: the eco-technical center Alternátor and the transfer terminal. The results of the 14th annual competition were announced today at the castle in Valeč in the Třebíč Region.
The expert jury evaluated 24 nominated buildings in the Vysočina this time. They were divided into five categories focusing on civic amenities, public spaces, and transport and industrial buildings.
The revitalization of Palackého náměstí in Počátky was honored for the solution that contributed to the unification of the space while respecting historical contexts. This investment also received the most SMS votes from the public and the governor's award. The Nové Město baths, costing 99 million crowns, have been open since last autumn. "In Nové Město na Moravě, the elegant and sober expression of the proposed architecture of the municipal baths was appreciated," said Martin Pertl from the organizing association Stavba Vysočiny to ČTK.
The Třebíč Alternátor succeeded due to the way it was transformed from a former brownfield, specifically a boiler house in the former Bopo industrial area. The eco-technical research center has been operating for about a year. The transfer terminal in Třebíč received the title for the solution of the integration of bus and train transport, and the jury praised the distinctive architecture of the production area of Isobast in Moravské Budějovice.
The Vysočina Building Competition - Building of the Year for the Vysočina Region was organized by the Stavba Vysočiny Association in association with the regional representation of the Czech Construction Industry Association, the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians Active in Construction (ČKAIT), and the Vysočina Region. The ČKAIT award was given to a family house built to passive standards in Telč.
