Ústí nad Labem

Ústí nad Labem - Ústí nad Labem has had a new city architect since June 1. The self-government has signed a contract with Barbora Havrlová, who succeeded in the selection process, for an indefinite period. The architect will focus on the revitalization of housing estates and urban furniture, for example. CTK was informed about this today by the city hall spokesperson Romana Macová.

In general, Havrlová is responsible for cooperation in the preparation of strategic, urban planning, and spatial development documents, as well as their creation. Contributory organizations or city departments can also turn to the architect for expert advice in solving issues related to urbanism and city development. According to Macová, the architect is currently focused on urban furniture. She is also responsible for updating the website of the high-speed rail line, both in terms of content and graphics, and she will also be responsible for communication with the winner of the international landscape-urbanistic-architectural competition for the design of Lake Milada.

The establishment of the city architect's office department under the office of Mayor Petr Nedvědický (ANO) was decided by the council this January. During the last electoral term, the opposition party PRO! Ústí advocated for the establishment of a contributory organization for the city architect's office. Because ANO and ODS voted against it, the PRO! Ústí movement then terminated the coalition agreement.
