Hodonín - Hodonín plans to build parking garages in the city center for more than 200 cars. A pair of buildings is to be constructed on Velkomoravská Street, adjacent to the district court. This was revealed by ČTK from documents that the investor sent to the authorities for environmental impact assessment. According to the town mayor Lubor Šimečka, the town council has not yet definitively approved the construction. The city administration also plans to build additional parking garages, primarily in the housing estates on the outskirts of the city.

Hodonín has been struggling with a shortage of parking spaces for several years. Three years ago, it became one of the last towns in the region to charge for parking in the central part of the city. The prices for parking were set by the city hall to accommodate primarily drivers who visit the city for short shopping trips, and on the other hand, to deter long-term blocking in shopping areas.
The city administration is also considering the construction of parking garages in the housing estates of Southeast and Windy Hill. Both were built in the 1980s. The architects of the time based their designs on studies suggesting there would be one car for every three apartments. However, the situation today is completely different, with two or more cars per apartment. Therefore, the parking capacity of the housing estates is insufficient.
