Kolín – In Kolín, the reconstruction of the funeral hall at the local cemetery has been completed. On Tuesday, after five months, the first funeral took place in the newly reconstructed large ceremonial hall with a capacity for 70 people. The repairs of the hall's interior, costing 8.6 million crowns excluding VAT, were carried out by WANDEL CZECH since last September, funded by the city. This is the final part of extensive renovations of the building’s interior, which have been ongoing since 2018. By the end of May, the city plans to repair the sidewalks, terraces, and stairs around the hall building. Jana Foffová informed ČTK about this on behalf of the management of public cemeteries in Kolín.

One of the biggest innovations is the possibility of extending a large monitor and speaker onto the terrace in front of the ceremonial hall. Mourning guests on the terrace can watch the ceremony taking place inside. The construction company also replaced the flooring, painted the interior, replaced the lighting, camera, and sound system, heating, and installed new furniture and fittings in the hall
