The Summer School of Architecture called Litomyšl without Delay is taking place at the Castle Brewery, attended by fifty architecture students from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The theme is further possibilities for the city's development after the planned bypass is built around it, which will cause the currently busy I/35 communication (the main route to Olomouc and Hradec Králové) to lose its current significance and stop dividing Litomyšl into two parts. The students focus primarily on the area from the roundabout at the Dalibor Hotel to the Sokolovna building, seeking opportunities to connect the old and new town, to utilize the potential of the river, and the immediate surroundings of the road. They are divided into eight creative groups of six to seven members and work under the guidance of architects Jakub Fišer, Zdeněk Franěk, Petr Hájek, Jan Hendrych, Karel Janča, Hana Maršíková, Dana Nováková, Jitka Ressová, Svatopluk Sládeček, and Veronika Veselá. On Tuesday, September 8, the participants of the summer school presented their concepts to architect Josef Pleskot, whose work has long been associated with Litomyšl, and who acts as the main consultant for the school. The professional guarantors of the summer school are architect Kamil Mrva and journalist Petr Volf. The results will be presented at an exhibition in the Castle Riding Hall on Friday, September 11, from 4 PM, with the exhibition itself lasting until Saturday, October 3. The summer school is being held for the fourth time; the first two years (Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, Plasy) took place within the framework of the grant Architecture Outside Traditional Centers, and is now organized by the Academy of Architecture association. All architects and organizers contribute to the event, which has been supported by four post-revolutionary mayors of Litomyšl, without claiming any fees.
