Litomyšl - Litomyšl in Svitavy will offer new places for leisure activities around the city. It will appeal to architecture students, who will design benches, viewpoints, or artworks. Mayor Daniel Brýdl (Generation 89) said this to journalists today.
"Litomyšl is a beautiful historic town where one can spend a lot of time. There are no attractive hills around, only fields, meadows, and plains. Architects will design small buildings that can enhance the surroundings," said Brýdl.
The city has selected 12 locations: the area around Hluboký Pond, Malý and Velký Košíř, green spaces near the heliport, and Husova Quarter, as well as the space by the rasovna and the Jewish cemetery.
However, thirty students can choose their own locations. The designs will be created as their semester work. The costs will not be high, at most hundreds of thousands, added Mayor Brýdl.
"We want to check whether it would be possible to implement smaller architectural interventions in the vicinity of the city, such as benches, gazebos, water features, viewpoints, or artworks that suitably and sensitively complement the landscape," said Antonín Dokoupil, head of the investment department.
