Prague - Today, from 09:00 to 17:00, the normally inaccessible representative spaces of Prague Castle will be open to the public. Visitors will be able to see the places where presidents exercise their constitutional powers. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia and the approaching October 28, during which the president awards state honors, representatives of Prague Castle want to introduce the theme of Order Days to the public.

"In the exhibition during the open house, not only Czech orders but also high foreign honors that the current president of the republic has received during his term will be presented for the very first time in the Rothmayer Hall,"
said the head of the public relations department, Martin Hakauf. There will also be designs for the appearance of the Order of the White Lion after 1990 on display.

A novelty will also be the introduction of the refurbished Brožík Salon. In addition to the two existing paintings by Václav Brožík from the collections of Prague Castle, additional works borrowed from the Gallery of the Capital City of Prague, including a portrait of his wife, have been added to the salon. In this room, for instance, the president receives new ambassadors who present their letters of credence.

In the Rudolf Gallery, people will be able to see a large ceremonial table specially set for the open house. It will feature a collection of 15 hand-blown crystal vases made for Prague Castle by Moser to mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Czechoslovakia.

Entrance to the tour will be secured through the Matyáš Gate from Hradčanské Square and the first courtyard, with the last visitor allowed to enter the representative spaces half an hour before closing, that is at 16:30.
