Prague - The absolute winner of the House of the Year 2017 poll organized by the magazine Můj dům is the Residence Prestige house from the Ústí Region. It was built by the construction and development company Canaba. The organizers announced the results of this year's 22nd edition tonight. The winning house is a two-storey building with a usable area of 212 square meters. It received the highest number of votes overall.
"The number of beautiful and well-built houses is increasing, so the results are becoming more balanced every year, and choosing the most beautiful one is getting harder," said the editor-in-chief of the magazine Můj dům and a member of the seven-member expert jury, Markéta Klocová.
There was competition in three categories. In the Individual Houses category, readers voted the most for the house designed by architects Michal Prášil and David Musil, built by Heluz Brick Industry. A total of 35 buildings competed in this category. In the Realized Model Houses category, the overall winner, Residence Prestige, topped the readers' votes. This competition featured 15 family houses. The first prize in the Catalog Houses - Design Offices category went to the Diana project by Thermo Plus.
The winner of the competition is decided by readers voting on the magazine's website or by sending a text message. In addition to the readers, an expert jury selected the winners in all categories. Only houses published in the magazine in 2016 could be nominated. Last year, the absolute winner of the poll was the Iveta house from the Trutnov region. It was designed by Thermo Plus and built in collaboration with Wienerberger Brick Industry.
