Kladno – The lookout on the roof of the Kladno tower museum is expected to be completed by the end of the year; the city has announced a tender valued at approximately four million crowns. With good visibility from the lookout, visitors will be able to see not only the Czech Central Mountains but also Ještěd, for example. This was reported today by Kladno councilor Petra Melčová (for ANO).

"In terms of meters, once the lookout is completed, it will be as high as the highest point in the Kladno area," Melčová described. The highest point in the Kladno area is the peak of Tuchonín in the Křivoklát Highlands. Its elevation is 488 meters.

In addition to the observation platform, a terrace is also planned for the roof, though this is not part of the current contract. According to the councilor, its construction will depend on the city’s financial capabilities, as will the planned visitor center that is to be created on the ground floor of the tower building. According to preliminary plans, this could happen next year, but clarity will come only after the budget is approved.

In the Kladno area of Rozdělov, the city opened a Museum of Listed Tower Houses last year, featuring a demonstration apartment with period furnishings. It presents the story of the housing estate and its main architect, Josef Havlíček.
