The civic association WOMEN ARCHITECTS in cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague invites you to the opening of the exhibition Women in Slovak Architecture in Prague, which will take place on Monday, October 19, 2015, at 7:00 PM at the Faculty of Architecture CTU, Thákurova 9, Prague 6 – Dejvice. The exhibition will be open to the public until November 9, 2015.

The exhibition presents the work of selected representatives of the first generation of Slovak female architects (Štefánia Krumlová, Milica Marcinková, Viera Mecková, Oľga Ondreičková, Lýdia Titlová), as well as the work of 10 contemporary Slovak female architects who build upon their legacy. Their work significantly contributes to current architectural developments in Slovakia and abroad. The exhibition also includes statistical information on the representation of women in architecture schools and in practice.

The exhibition in the courtyard of the New Building of CTU in Prague follows the exhibition that took place at Hviezdoslav Square in Bratislava as part of the Architecture and Design Days festival 2015. The exhibition is initiated by the civic association WOMEN ARCHITECTS, which has been long dedicated to reflecting the theme of women architects in society.

WOMEN ARCHITECTS is a professional civic association that aims to become a Central European platform for the support and presentation of female architects. The association's goal is to present and support women in the architectural profession, to exchange experiences between Slovak and foreign female architects, and to map the relationship between women and men in education and the practice of architecture. The association was founded by Andrea Klimko, Dana Blaškovičová, and Dana Moderdovská in 2013 in Slovakia, based on examples of similar organizations abroad, with the aim of operating in both domestic and international arenas in the long term. Current information about WOMEN ARCHITECTS activities can be found at www.women-architects.com or at www.facebook/womenarchitects
