Znojmo will hold a public discussion on the study for the reconstruction of the municipal baths and park

Znojmo - Znojmo will publicly discuss two studies that will change the face of the city. On Wednesday, December 10, it will be the reconstruction of the Municipal Baths into a multipurpose sports hall, and in January, a study on the renovation of the park in Máchovo Square, stated city spokesperson Petra Šuláková in a press release.

The future of the Municipal Baths building in Freedom Square was a key issue in the referendum held earlier this spring. Several usage options were available, and the sports hall received by far the most votes. The public discussion will take place on December 10 at 5:00 PM at Domeček, with the park discussion scheduled for the same time and place on January 7. "Both projects are significant for the further development of Znojmo. Therefore, we want citizens to familiarize themselves with them and to be able to engage in a discussion about their form," said Deputy Mayor Jiří Kacetl (Pro Znojmo).

The proposal for the reconstruction into a sports hall was developed by the Architectural Office Burian – Křivinka. The hall is intended to support local sports clubs and to host larger sporting events. It will also include an athletic tunnel that will allow athletes to train in the winter. "In the area of the current outdoor pools, a children's playground could be created for various age groups, and new public restrooms with continuous operation will be located here as well. The design also considers modifications to the surroundings," said Deputy Mayor Jakub Malačka (Naše Znojmo).

The proposal for the revitalization of the park was developed by landscape architect Lucie Langová from the Gaia Atelier. Her concept is based on the needs of residents of the adjacent apartment buildings and the wider area, transforming the currently neglected park square into a fully functional public space for relaxation and meeting, Šuláková stated. The proposal also includes the expansion and modernization of the children's playground, which will be newly equipped with attractive play elements.
