What is it like to work for Bjarke Ingels or Norman Foster? Another in the series of debates titled Expats, in which architect Adam Gebrian presents Czech architects in the service of prestigious foreign studios.
The guest of the January meeting will be Ondřej Tichý, a Czech architect who works as the director of visual communication at Thomas Heatherwick's studio. In addition to designing the new London Routemaster bus, this studio created the fuzzy British Pavilion at Expo 2010, as well as the cauldron for the 2012 Olympic Games.
At Heatherwick Studio, Ondřej has worked on the Al Fayah Park project in Abu Dhabi and the Zeitz MOCAA Museum of Contemporary Art in Cape Town; he is currently focused on the new Pier 55 park project in New York. Previously, Ondřej was part of the BIG studio, where he collaborated on the Superkilen park in Copenhagen.
