Architects are organizing a short series of meetings called Round Tables in the autumn and winter of 2022. We plan to meet every month on various topics, occasionally inviting guests. The aim is to critically yet kindly reflect on the mechanisms of contemporary architectural practice and to explore ways to improve it. The motivation for the Round Tables project is to create a safe space for discussion, where it will be possible to share experiences and concerns, present multiple life perspectives, and provide a space for mutual support while seeking systemic opportunities for a more inclusive setting in the field. We believe that the project will provide direct support to participants and will also speak to the broader architectural community, bringing new impulses. At the first "round table," labor lawyer and expert in labor law Mgr. Šárka Homfray will sit down with established creator of the Czech architectural scene Ing. arch. Josef Pleskot. We will discuss ideal forms of labor relations, the existing norm of labor relationships in the architectural field, and the possibilities of establishing more sustainable working conditions. We will share specific examples of good practice and brainstorm new ways to improve labor relations and conditions within the architectural profession.
The series of meetings called Round Tables is held with the support of the Czech Architecture Foundation. Admission is voluntary. We provide childcare services - please write in advance to the email [email protected].
