The Story of Panel Housing in the Pardubice Region
Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 19:00 at Divadlo 29 / Sv. Anežky České 29, Pardubice

Panel housing estates in our country are mostly perceived as a gray legacy of the past regime. However, the idea of quick standardized construction from prefabricated elements was already developed by interwar architects; the architecture and urban planning of these estates have significantly evolved over more than four decades.

The lecture by architectural historian Martina Flekačová will explore the development of Czech panel housing estates, focusing on their history in Pardubice, and will also present the research project of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, of which the mentioned exhibition is a part.

Following Martina Flekačová will be František R. Václavík, a building historian and member of the Offcity association, who has long been dedicated to the study of building history in Pardubice.
