Lectures

Georg W. Reinberg
Martin Treberspurg

On Monday, November 10, starting at 6 PM, a lecture by Prof. Martin Treberspurga will take place at the Austrian Cultural Forum in Prague on the topic Sustainable Construction Using Solar Architecture and Passive House Technologies. The lecture will be simultaneously interpreted into Czech.
Long-standing positive experiences of Austrian solar architecture (since 1975) have combined high-quality living with the highest energy efficiency through the use of passive house technology. Successful projects will be presented, starting from the energy self-sufficient alpine cabin in Hochschwab, Styria, to the once internationally largest passive housing estate in Vienna. Austrian Treberspurg believes that this new trend in architectural development represents not only excellent architectural expression but also the most meaningful path for future construction.
Univ. Prof. Architect Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Martin Treberspurg (*1953, Vienna) studied architecture and civil engineering at the Technical University of Vienna from 1971-77. In 1996, he founded the office Treberspurg & Partner Architekten. He focuses primarily on urban construction, energy-efficient buildings using passive house technology with solar energy, residential construction, school construction, heritage protection, and ecology.

The work of the architectural offices Treberspurg and Reinberg, based in Vienna, is also showcased as part of the Green Architecture project in the Lapidarium of the Bethlehem Chapel. The exhibition of these architects' creations is titled Solar Architecture in Austria.
The Green Architecture project offers a showcase of contemporary trends in green and ecological architecture (passive and low-energy houses). The project includes 4 exhibitions and a series of lectures and is held under the auspices of Martin Bursík, the Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic.
