Conference participants:
PhDr. Benjamin Fragner - founder of the industrial heritage protection section at the National Technical Museum in Prague and director of the Research Center for Industrial Heritage at ČVUT in Prague, which systematically maps technical and industrial monuments. He is currently working on the theme of Industrial Heritage as a technical-architectural work and as the identity of a place.
Mgr. Michaela Ryšková - expert worker at the Methodical Center for Industrial Heritage ÚOP in Ostrava, where she participated in research on industrial heritage in many cities in Moravia, e.g., as part of the project Industrial Heritage of Moravia and Silesia, often with a focus on the textile industry. She is a co-author of the publication Cultural Heritage of the Brno Wool Industry.
PhDr. Petra Mertová, Ph.D. - curator at the Technical Museum in Brno, ethnologist and museologist, who has long focused on the Brno textile industry and its history. She teaches externally at the Institute of European Ethnology at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University. She is a co-author of the publication Cultural Heritage of the Brno Wool Industry.
Prof. Ing. arch. Tomáš Šenberger - professor and vice-dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at ČVUT in Prague. In his practice, he has realized conversions of industrial objects – in Brno, for example, the former Moravan factory. He focuses on research into industrial architecture concerning its new use.
Mgr. Kateřina Tučková, Ph.D. - writer, art historian, and curator, initiator of the multi-genre festival Meeting Brno. In her work, she delves into the uncharted depths of Brno history. In preparing her book, Fabrika, published on the occasion of the exhibition Brno – Moravian Manchester, she extensively mapped the stories of Brno's textile families.
Ing. arch. MArch. Janica Šipulová - architect and urban planner, founder of the studio Consequence Forma. She enjoys and successfully engages with large urban projects and, conversely, urbanistically complex points. She is the winner of the competition for the reconstruction of Moravian Square in Brno. In her thesis at the IKA Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, she focused on the strategy of urban transformation of the Brno post-industrial lowlands.

The Association for Brno strives for the protection of architectural, archaeological, and cultural heritage in Brno, whose central urban area features a collection of quality architecture from the turn of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. It reflects the economic growth of the city at that time, its transformation into a large city influenced by Viennese and European architecture. This creates the specific character of Brno, which makes its residents and visitors feel good.
