CLUBOVKA good coffee, good design, good architecture, good people. We invite you to the closing party of CLUBOVKA 2025, featuring the Belgian studio RAAMWERK / Gijs De Cock and Freek Dendooven from Ghent. "As designers, we have a great interest in leaving a certain ambiguity in our architecture and we seek unprogrammed spaces that people can adopt for themselves." The Belgian studio Raamwerk is one of the most interesting phenomena in contemporary European architecture. Gijs De Cock and Freek Dendooven base their approach on an exceptional ability to work with scale, materials, and context, transforming even modest assignments into cultivated and layered architectural stories. Raamwerk is renowned for its sensitivity in balancing rationality and poetics – their houses and public buildings appear both pragmatic and sensitive, rational in organization, yet emotional in atmosphere. Despite their characteristic architectural restraint, their projects never feel dull or cold; on the contrary, in simplicity, they often reveal the raw beauty of construction, craftsmanship, or light. They possess a typical ability to read the environment, connecting to its rhythm, proportions, and memory. In this way, sustainable architecture arises that transcends the present and looks forward. They do not seek dazzling effect, but rather enduring values and cultivated expression. Their work combines precise composition with social, cultural, and environmental empathy. RAAMWERK has become a laureate of the prestigious "Rookie of the Year" award for young architects thanks to the Atelierwoning project. They have received further awards and nominations in the Wienerberger Brick Award 2016 and the Belgian Architecture Award 2015. Currently, they are nominated for the EU Mies Awards 2026 for the Duinhelm project (masterplan and housing for people with disabilities).
