The broader area of Olšanská Street and the transportation terminal of the Žižkov Freight Station is currently undergoing a significant transformation. Some residential projects of varying quality have already been built, and other development projects are in the preparation stage. There is talk of an increase in the population by 20,000, which will transform the entire urban structure of Upper Žižkov, the surroundings of Ohrada, Malešice, and nearby city districts. There will be a considerable change in social and transportation infrastructure, and it will be necessary to respond to the changing climate conditions of the capital city, Prague.
This is a great opportunity to create a new urban organism that will be welcoming both to current residents of the Prague 3 district and to new residents. It could become a laboratory and an example of a sustainable and compact city with quality public space and infrastructure.
