On Weathering: A gallery talk and a microclimatic walk with Centrala

Během přednášky v galerii VI PER budou Małgorzata Kuciewicz a Simone De Iacobis ze studia Centrala spolu s kurátorkou Aleksandrou Kędziorek diskutovat o výhodách, které přináší odkazy na starší, tradiční přístupy v architektuře. Budou se inspirovat vernakulární architekturou a modernistickými ikonami a uvažovat o částečně zapomenutých dovednostech utváření mikroklimatu, navrhování spolu s počasím a přizvání ne-lidských aktérů do procesu navrhování. Přednáška přiblíží širší kontext prací studia Centrala představených na výstavě a rozšíří jej o jejich další projekty, odkazy a výzkumné metody.

During a gallery talk on Friday evening at VI PER, Małgorzata Kuciewicz and Simone De Iacobis from Centrala and architecture curator Aleksandra Kędziorek will discuss the benefits that come from forming an architectural arrière-garde. Drawing inspiration from vernacular architecture and modernist icons, they will deliberate on the partly forgotten skills of shaping microclimates, designing along with the weather, and inviting non-human actors to the process of design. The talk will give a wider context to Centrala's works presented in the exhibition, and extend it with their other projects, references and research methods.
