If you are interested in cultural events, you must have heard the exotic-sounding name "PechaKucha Night." Evening presentations of design, architecture, photography, or fashion take place in Ostrava in different venues each time, and the packed Gasometer GONG or Fabrik club testify to their popularity. The eleventh continuation of one of the most significant cultural events in the region will take place on Saturday, March 30th, at the Landek Park Mining Museum.

“PechaKucha Night is about creativity and an inspiring atmosphere. Because we love Ostrava, we always move the event around and show that there are many interesting places here that can serve as venues for cultural events,”
says Martin Lindovský, one of the organizers, and adds “Landek Park is a unique space within the Czech Republic, it was a clear choice. We perceive the space itself as the most important presenter at every PechaKucha Night Ostrava.”

Equally unique are the other presenters. One of the most significant Slovak glass designers Patrik Illo, will introduce Jan Hanzlík, who will present the Gallery NE, while Jiří Přibyl will showcase the work in industrial design of the globally successful Koncern studio. Illustrator and animator Anna Mastníková will also get her 6 minutes and 40 seconds, along with the creative studio Družina, director Petr Babinec, or the startup Designeros.
Regarding the selection of presenters, Lindovský says “Our only criterion is inspirational value and contribution to the audience. Presenters are masters of their fields as well as emerging talents. We want every participant to leave the event enriched, and for the presented ideas to linger in their minds long after the evening ends.”
Regardless of fame or field, every presenter has the same time limit – 6 minutes 40 seconds, corresponding to 20 seconds for each of the 20 slides. This keeps the presentations engaging, and the program is varied enough for every viewer.

The entire project aims to familiarize participants not only with interesting ideas and works but also with each other. Therefore, a non-formal afterparty is part of the evening program, where viewers can meet and discuss with the presenters and organizers. The event starts at half-past six, with the presentations beginning precisely at 20:20.
