Karel Prager

On Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 19:00 AM, a lecture by Radomíra Sedláková, curator of the National Gallery and an expert on the work of Karel Prager, will take place at CAMP (Center for Architecture and Urban Planning), Vyšehradská 51. In the extensive inventory of the architect Karel Prager, particularly from the sixties and seventies, a number of projects are listed that were only partially realized or not realized at all – for example, the Technology House, the State Library, the House for the Czech Philharmonic, the completion of the complex in Emauzy, the finishing of the Mathematical-Physical complex in Troja, and the covering of the Main Station. The reasons were diverse, most can be related to the change in the situation in society after 1968 (this was by no means only applicable to Prager's designs). Some of them remain controversial to this day, some are regrettable, and most can serve as interesting inspiration for the future. Admission is free. Please register here.
