Alena Šrámková
Šrámková architekti, s.r.o.

The Association for a Beautiful Olomouc and the Komenský Museum in Přerov invite you to a lecture by Rostislav Švácha:

The First Lady of Czech Architecture in Přerov.
The Work of Alena Šrámková, the Author of the Future Tyrš Bridge.

November 23, 2010, 5:00 PM, Korvínský House, Horní náměstí 31, Přerov
For those interested in Přerov's monuments of modern architecture, there will be a city tour and related exhibitions on the same day about the Tyrš Bridge. Meeting at 3:00 PM in front of the building of Přerov train station.

Alena Šrámková
can be considered the most significant female architect in modern Czech architecture. She has made her mark in the history of Czech architecture with her buildings (the new terminal of the Main Train Station, the New Yorker building on Můstek, the new Faculty of Architecture at ČVUT) as well as her theoretical views, in which she emphasizes the moral justification of architectural form and therefore prefers the values of severity, lack of style, and timelessness. Alena Šrámková has been working on the Tyrš Bridge project in Přerov for fifteen years. Upon its completion, the building will become the most significant contribution of this city to Czech post-November architecture.
