Alena Šrámková is one of the most significant personalities of contemporary Czech architecture. For the exhibition commemorating her life anniversary, she selected 17 works that she considers the most important in her oeuvre. The buildings, projects, competition designs, and studies represent not just an overview and cohesive set of plans, but primarily drawings and sketches. They showcase the architect's work in the search for the right expression and the overall conception of the future building. The drawings, made with a steady hand, are also filled with a special raw poetics. Pencil, pastel, marker—it's as if the intention is for the drawing not to be delicate and precise, but rather suggestive, introducing the future character. The drawings are accompanied by models, mainly for presentation purposes, created directly in the studio. Photographs of actual buildings are presented separately. The exhibits belong to the studio Ehl-Koumar architekti (formerly Šrámková architekti) and from the Collection of Architecture of the National Gallery in Prague.
