Current Stairs 2018 - Invitation to the Conference

The Faculty of Architecture of CTU is organizing a conference on October 25, 2018, titled Contemporary Stairs 2018 - Architecture and Structure.

The aim of the conference is a clear comparison of contemporary approaches to the design and processing of staircases as a significant architectural detail. In a broader context, the conference is part of the ongoing mapping of contemporary architecture within doctoral research at the Department of Design 1 at FA CTU and related research at other faculties and universities.
The results of the research will be confronted with examples from the practice of leading architects and staircase manufacturers.
The conference loosely follows last year's edition of the professional conference Modern Stairs 2017, held on October 12, 2017, at the Faculty of Civil Engineering VUT in Brno, where contributions were presented by architects Roman Koucký, Jan Jakub Tesař, Ivan Wahla, Jan Šépka, Robert Wurm & Meinrad Velten, and Martin Rajniš.
A proceedings will be published for the conference. Authors will strive to have the proceedings included in the Web of Science, with which they have experience.
