The Academy of Fine Arts in Prague invites you to the third lecture of the spring series Wednesdays at AVU:

Maria Topolčanská

What is the purpose of theory?
10-5-2017, 18:00

How to study and teach the theory of architecture within the discursive framework in which architecture exists today? Where does architecture seek its authority and motivation? Is there any connection between academic education and the ambitions of architectural practice?

Maria Topolčanská is an architect and critic, leading the platform for education in architecture Fake Cities True Stories in Prague. She is the curator of public lecture and discussion series Visiting Editors (on independent models of publication in architecture, 2016) and Visiting Planners (on urban policy research and practice, 2017). She is the coordinator of the Master program at ARCHIP.

The series is prepared and moderated by Tomáš Pospiszyl
