Vladimír's bookstore Serius and the civil association PLAC cordially invite you to the 46th lecture from the series "printed architecture". This time, on Friday November 22, 2019 at 6:30 PM, architectural critic Karolina Jirkalová and architect Ondřej Dušek will visit Jablonec nad Nisou to provide answers to the question What are architects for, which you can also find in their generously illustrated publication of the same name. You will be able to purchase the book at the bookstore. The lecture will take place with financial support from the Czech Architecture Foundation. Architect Ondřej Dušek studied at the Faculty of Architecture of CTU in Prague and at the Emil Přikryl School at the Prague AVU. He worked at the Hnilička Císler architects studio and has been freelancing since 2010. He participated in the preparation of the exhibition Baugruppe ist super!, curated by Helena Doudová and Marek Kopeć. Karolina Jirkalová is a journalist, critic, and editor focusing on architecture. She studied Czech studies at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague and is currently a PhD student in theory and history of art at the Prague UMPRUM. She is the editor of the magazine Art+Antiques, contributed to publications such as Architects SIAL and City Between Houses, and was the editor of the research project Panel Housing Estates in the Czech Republic as part of the urban living environment.
