At the ARCHITECT@WORK fairs, which are exclusively intended for architects, designers, and professionals, the latest trends and innovative solutions in both interior and exterior design are regularly showcased across Europe. In June 2025, this prestigious event made its debut in Prague. For Hager, the manufacturer of the design switches berker, which has long been committed to connecting technological innovations with aesthetic perfection, the inaugural edition of the Prague fair was exceptionally successful. The interactive exhibition at the prestigious industry fair generated extraordinary interest and received acclaim from both visitors and organizers.

Innovations Premierly Introduced to the Czech Professional Public

The exclusive partner of the Czech premiere edition of ARCHITECT@WORK was Hager, which presented several new products from the world of design-oriented original switches at its booth. Visitors to the booth could see how the color of the year Mocha Mousse suited several design lines of berker switches. The brand-new color range of the rocker version of the berker R.classic switches also attracted well-deserved attention, boasting the title Two Tone thanks to its color combinations. Last but not least, the popular series berker Q.1 and Q.3 with a velvet finish made its premiere, which had previously only been available in the darkest version in anthracite – it was presented in a full black matte variant at the ARCHITECT@WORK fair.

In addition to several innovations previously not introduced in the Czech Republic, the Hager booth showcased a variety of other unique switches from limited series Manufaktura, as well as interesting switches from the standard portfolio. As part of the custom manufacturing program Hager Manufaktura, it is possible to have switches made to the architect's specifications, whether it involves any color, surface treatment, or unconventional materials. From the standard portfolio, there was traditional interest in switches made of glass, porcelain, concrete, slate, or vividly colored acrylic.

The professional public from among architects and designers was also introduced to the new microsite out-of-the-box.cz at the Hager booth, which not only offers comprehensive information about all design lines of berker switches but also interesting blog articles from the world of switches and inspiring photographs and video reports from Czech and international implementations.

Touching the Exhibits Allowed

One of the main attractions of the Hager exhibition was its interactivity. Visitors could not only view the products but also try them out and experience their beauty and functionality firsthand. Architects and designers appreciated the variable, interactive, and unconventional way of presenting the exhibits: a large part of the exhibition was made up of a magnetic mood board, and individual switches, frames, central plates, and sample materials – fabrics, metals, color swatches – were equipped with magnets. This allowed visitors to the fair to assemble their own combinations of switches in various shapes and colors on-site and group interesting combinations and material samples according to their taste.

Inspiration for the Future

Hager's participation in the fair was combined with the celebration of two significant anniversaries: "In 2025, we will celebrate 70 years since the founding of the parent company Hager and at the same time 30 years of operation of our branch in the Czech Republic and Slovakia," explains Thomas Grund, director of the Czech branch of Hager Electro. Success at the ARCHITECT@WORK fair is not only a testament to the unceasing innovative strength of the Hager group but also an inspiration for future directions. The feedback received from the professional public will assist in the development of new products and strengthen Hager's position as a pioneer in its field. At the same time, it is also a challenge – to maintain and possibly exceed the high standards set in the coming years and continue searching for innovative solutions that will further push the boundaries of home technologies and design.

This success clearly demonstrated that quality design and innovation have their place in the market. Whether it concerns small details such as switches or large architectural projects, aesthetics and functionality always go hand in hand. Hager's response to the exhibition dedicated to switches confirmed that even seemingly inconspicuous elements of interior design can be true art.
