Fermacell at the Wood Building Fair 2010 in Prague

Fermacell presented itself at the 5th edition of the fair in hall 3, booth 3A12, with the main topics of the exhibition being Fermacell Greenline boards, this year's novelty in the offer of plasterboard panels, examples of bending FERMACELL Powerpanel boards, the new portal www.stavetchytre.cz, the FermaCena software, and of course the use of FERMACELL products in wooden constructions.

Fermacell also supported the accompanying events of the fair – the company was the main partner of the Wooden House 2010 competition, the results of which were announced on February 25, 2010, and which was organized this year for the first time in two competitive categories - implemented energy-efficient family houses and proposals for low-energy family houses. The competition featured 42 authors with 24 contest entries, with a total of 8 proposals for wooden structures awarded in the category of Low-energy Family House design, 3 proposals for wooden structures in the category of Implemented Energy-efficient Family House, and prizes totaling 300,000 crowns were distributed. Fermacell was not only in the role of the main partner of the competition, but FERMACELL materials were also utilized in the realization by Milan Schmiedt of MS HAUS, who took 3rd place in the Implementation category. The low-energy family house produced by MS HAUS has exterior boards covered with FERMACELL boards, and FERMACELL plasterboard panels are also used to sheath the internal walls, with FERMACELL materials being used for flooring in this house as well.

The long-term cooperation between Fermacell and MS HAUS from Hradec Králové, a member of ADMD and a significant domestic producer of wooden structures, was reflected in the way FERMACELL Greenline boards were presented during the Dřevostavby 2010 fair. This fresh novelty in Fermacell's offer was actually on display at two locations at the fair – in addition to the Fermacell exhibition, where the boards themselves were presented, visitors found at MS HAUS a concrete example of the construction of houses where the new FERMACELL Greenline boards will be used for internal sheathing. In the MS Passive house series, these boards are now a standard!

Before the announcement of the results of the Wooden House 2010 competition, a seminar titled “Living in Wood – Our New Lifestyle” took place at the fair, where the director of Fermacell, Ing. Miloš Kincel, also spoke on the topic “FERMACELL – An Environmentally Friendly Construction System”. Fermacell was also the main partner of the Wooden Construction Salon, a unique non-competitive exhibition of the most interesting wooden constructions implemented in the past calendar year in the Czech Republic.
