When EFAFLEX rapid rolling doors save hundreds of thousands of crowns

How did it all start? By analyzing processes within the company. It turned out that the greatest burden was the frequent handling of sectional doors in the production hall. Their slow opening and closing caused significant heat loss, resulting in high energy bills. Therefore, the company considered an investment that would reduce consumption in the long term and improve efficiency, without the need to interfere with the building's cladding or make major structural changes.

Solution: Replacing old sectional doors with high-speed doors

After considering all circumstances, it was decided to replace the old sectional doors with high-speed ones from EFAFLEX. The reason was that high-speed doors significantly outperform sectional doors in many parameters – they are much faster, more reliable, and have a longer lifespan (more about the comparison of sectional and high-speed doors here). Therefore, at the beginning of February 2025, the existing sectional doors were replaced with EFA-SST®-L Premium high-speed doors with an opening speed of up to 2.5 m/s and an annual guarantee of up to 250 thousand opening cycles, without any operational limitation during the day. This installation significantly reduced the time the hall was exposed to the outdoor climate. The shorter the doors remain open, the less heat escapes from the hall – and thus, the lower the energy bills.

Reduction in consumption – measurement after the installation of high-speed doors

The effect of the new technology was immediate. While in January 2025, with the old doors, the heating of the hall consumed 88 MWh of gas, in February, after the installation of the new EFAFLEX doors, consumption dropped to 39.5 MWh. In March, it was only 1.2 MWh.

If we compare consumption in MWh for the period before and after the installation of the EFAFLEX high-speed doors, the total balance of the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024 speaks for itself:

• 2024 (January-June): 506.231 MWh
• 2025 (January-June): 209.034 MWh
• Difference: –297.197 MWh

With an average price of natural gas of approximately 1,100 CZK/MWh (corresponding to common values in the first half of 2025), this means a saving of 327 thousand CZK for EMERGE. Thus, the company has already recovered almost 70% of the purchase price of the doors in just the first six months of operation. The investment in premium doors amounting to 471,800 CZK thus paid off for the company faster than its representatives expected.

The installation of EFA-SST®-L Premium high-speed doors brought immediate effects in the form of lower energy payments for EMERGE, along with long-term assurance of significantly reduced operating costs. This example proves that the right choice of door technology can have a direct impact on the financial management of the entire company.
