Click as a reflection of the current era

Extraordinary design often arises from completely ordinary things. A testament to this is the new door handle - the ERA handle from the Czech family workshop M&T, which was inspired by the shape of a gently curled piece of paper by architect and designer Barbora Škorpilová. Thanks to the unexpected play of graceful lines, this interior detail is unique and indefinable from every angle. Additionally, it clearly presents the period of its creation, which was the main intention of the author.

To create a design that reflects the contemporary era and technologies. This exact effort is behind the creation of the new model of door hardware, ERA. As the designer Barbora Škorpilová from the studio Mimolimit describes: "My vision was to create a handle that would be recognized at first glance as having been made after the year 2000. At the same time, I wanted the production to involve the latest computer programs and innovative contemporary technologies." After fifteen years, she resumed her successful collaboration with the Czech family workshop M&T, which focuses on modern technological innovations. Regarding the actual production of the handle, the author notes: "The most challenging aspect was to consider the weight in its shape. We wanted a large handle, but we had to constantly calculate how much material could be added." In addition to the handle, the collection also includes an inventive grip for entrance and glass doors.

The basic material of the ERA handle is solid brass. "This material excels not only in high strength but also in its aesthetic qualities, which is why we offer it in several surface variations for the ERA hardware - natural brass, polished brass, antique brass, and aged wood brass," informs Roman Ulich, lead designer of M&T, a leader in surface finishes. Other surface options for the ERA model include matte titanium surfaces in seven attractive shades, brushed 3D black chrome, structured black matte, white matte, shiny chrome, matte nickel, and brushed matte nickel. In total, it offers 17 surface finishes.

Thanks to the modern processing of the design of the handle, its time of origin is distinctly recognizable. Yet it is a suitable architectural detail, stylistically balanced in both historical and modern interiors.
