The patented Magnetic system for door control operates purely on the principle of attractive magnetic force. But beware, this is not a standard magnetic lock with a magnetic bolt. Magnetic does not use a handle or bolt, but solely the force of two magnets and various handles.
Forget about the click – the silent closing and noiseless opening of revolving doors is part of the innovative solution of the Magnetic door system. It not only does without the typical sound but, unlike a classic magnetic lock, also without a handle and even without a bolt. "Magnetic utilizes the attractive physical force between two magnets placed in the door frame and the door leaf. As they come closer, the door closes smoothly, but without extending the bolt, which is part of other door systems operating on a magnetic principle," explains Roman Ulich, the designer of the Magnetic system and design director of M&T. The door can be opened with a gentle push or pull, with the added option of easily adjusting the attractive force.
WARNING! Magnetic is not a magnetic lock!
The magic of Magnetic lies in the complete absence of a bolt in the door lock, which would tightly close the door leaf in the frame and would need to be operated by a handle. Their absence is what distinguishes the Magnetic system from the classic magnetic lock, which is equipped with a bolt and requires a handle to open. However, it also has its advantages. Its strength is the concealed bolt, which only emerges when the door is closed. Not only is its invisibility minimally perfect, but it also has a functional significance. Because nothing protrudes from the door, there is no risk of injury from a protruding bolt, and the unframed door frame remains protected from damage.
The innovative solution of the Magnetic system has been confirmed by the granting of a national patent, and with its timeless design and quality workmanship, it has earned two prestigious international awards – the Red Dot Design Award 2020 and the Good Design Award Gold 2020.
