Not all windows are the same. The Czech manufacturer JANOŠÍK OKNA-DVEŘE knows this well, as they produce windows for the most prominent buildings of Czech modern architecture. Jakub Janošík shared their creative approach with us.

In modern living, the principle of windows has changed. Instead of windows in the middle of the wall, entire walls become windows that connect the interior with the surrounding landscape. We strive to make this connection as strong as possible and to ensure that nothing disrupts it. It is said that half of the quality of a house is made up of the surrounding garden, mature trees, and distant views. So why not have this strongest addition at home and not unnecessarily hide it behind walls?

We manufacture windows and doors in a way that contributes to the functionality and beauty of top-notch architecture. They create light-filled spaces, uninterrupted views, large format open walls, and enhance the quality of architectural works, all in a clean design. To enjoy the scenery of the surrounding landscape undisturbed, the windows must blend seamlessly with the house. Ideally, you won't even notice the windows are there, and the surrounding nature is right at your home. Such windows are humble; you do not perceive them, but they are essential for the whole. The beauty of the whole stands out.

A house as a place to live. A place for satisfaction, rest, recharging energy, and personal fulfillment. Many people are not satisfied with choosing a house from a catalog; they dream of a more sophisticated home, a thoughtfully designed space tailored to themselves and their needs, with every detail carefully considered. Contextually placed in the surroundings. The merging of functions into a harmonious whole. For the more demanding clients, we want to provide a dignified window solution for their homes.

In an ideal scenario, an uninterrupted spatial experience, a sense of freedom, is achieved every day.

8 Rules for Ideal Windows

  1. Elimination of opening and sliding parts to the necessary minimum.
  2. Non-opening parts of windows designed as frameless.
  3. No vertical division of the glass, especially in terms of crucial views.
  4. Windows do not frame even minimal parts of the walls. Windows run from floor to ceiling, from wall to wall. The floor seamlessly transitions into the garden area.
  5. Minimum visible parts in a clean minimalist design so they do not disrupt. Technical parts of the hardware are hidden within the windows.
  6. From the outside, ideally fully-glazed windows of the Skywall design, which are covered in glass, making even the opening frames blend into the all-glass surfaces. They create cohesive glass surfaces, unique for maximizing clean lines and maintenance-free upkeep.
  7. Connection with the outside through large format sliding windows. The outdoor terrace and the interior merge into one whole.
  8. Corner joints of the windows are connected without posts at structural corners.
