What is contemporary Czech architecture like? Even leading experts do not agree on the answer to this question. Nevertheless, certain characteristic features of new buildings can be observed while traveling through the Czech countryside. Functionality and simplicity clearly prevail. Leading manufacturers of building materials are also responding to this trend. This year, the Czech company PRESBETON, which produces concrete components primarily for exterior use, introduced a whole range of innovations, most of which align with the trends of minimalist architecture.

Minimalist planters and benches made of thin-walled concrete

Undoubtedly the most interesting novelty that will find application in minimalist-style homes are the planters LITE CUBE and BLOCK. The new production technology has enabled the introduction of slender yet very durable products that have approximately 60% less weight than standard concrete variants offered on our market.

Owners of rooftop terraces and balconies, which are not designed for high load, will especially appreciate the thin-walled concrete planters. On the other hand, they will not tip over in stronger winds due to their extraordinary stability, which primarily stems from their suitable shape and slightly higher weight compared to popular lightweight plastic. An important aspect is also the ecological dimension, as less material is needed for the production of the LITE series.

A new type of high-quality concrete was also used in designing a new type of bench LITE LA. Its shape is based on the successful LA series, but significantly less material has been used, making the entire structure lighter both optically and really.

Elegant paving with anti-slip properties

Another innovation in PRESBETON's portfolio is the surface paving KAYLA. At first glance, it captures attention with its relief surface, which faithfully imitates natural stone. The roughened surface from brushing not only provides an aesthetic dimension but also practical advantages that customers will appreciate especially in rainy weather. The KAYLA paving has excellent anti-slip properties. It is offered in an attractive format of 600 x 300 mm and a thickness of 40 mm, which allows its use on walking surfaces, i.e., terraces, access paths to the house, and walkways, or for reinforcing surfaces around pools. The selection of three modern colors, anthracite, white, and brown, will allow for perfect harmony of the paving with the overall appearance of the object. The paving is, of course, frost-resistant and equipped with an internal protective system, Protect System IN, against dirt and water penetration.

Traditional walls from unconventional blocks

The simple functional design also perfectly complements the elegant concrete building block LINE BLOCK for the construction of solid fences. An interesting feature of this masonry system is the construction method, where individual blocks are joined using special concrete rings without the application of bonding material. This system has been successfully applied by PRESBETON in the previous series of blocks, RONDE BLOCK. The advantage is a significant saving of time and money during construction. The stability of the walls is ensured by integrated reinforced concrete columns. The ends of the walls must always be finished with a poured column with embedded reinforcement. The colors of the new LINE BLOCK are based on classic options of black, white, and naturally gray concrete. For easy maintenance and longer lifespan, the LINE BLOCK blocks are equipped with an internal protective system, Protect System IN, against dirt and water penetration.
