Administrative buildings, schools, storage and production halls, as well as bus stops, pergolas, or garage spaces. These are examples of structures that can be loaded only minimally. Thanks to the unique material ENVIRET SH, developed by the technological company RETEX from Moravský Krumlov, it is possible to cover even these buildings with a green roof.

ENVIRET SH is a cultivation and hydro-accumulation board, primarily intended for lightweight extensive green roofs with minimal substrate height. The advantage of this material is that it can be used on large areas. Architects and designers can safely choose this textile for large green roofs, such as those of administrative buildings or spacious halls. The material can also be applied to smaller areas, such as family homes, pergolas, and garages, as well as municipal structures like tram or bus stops. Additionally, ENVIRET SH can be used for greening urban and community areas, such as tram corridors.

Cultivation board made from recycled clothing

The new material is a product of what is known as the circular or closed-loop economy, characterized by recycling and minimizing residual waste. The cultivation and hydro-accumulation board ENVIRET is made of 80 percent recycled textiles from synthetic fibers – primarily from second-hand sweaters and hoodies. The used clothing mainly comes from the Czech Republic, and RETEX utilizes its new tearing line for processing it. Thanks to this modern technology, ENVIRET SH achieves very high water retention. The registration of the material as a roof substrate is currently underway at the Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture in Prague.

Can manage even minimal substrate

For designs of green roofs and other applications, compositions with three centimeters of substrate with sowing from so-called cuttings, or even with succulent carpets with two centimeters of substrate or without substrate, will be available. The material is produced and supplied in the form of boards (120 × 60 cm) and can optionally also be supplied in rolls.

ENVIRET comes in three thickness variants
and surface weights:
10 mm / 1000 g
20 mm / 2000 g
30 mm / 3000 g

The company RETEX, established in 1950, focuses not only on materials for green roofs but also on supplying non-woven textiles for the automotive industry and construction. It also offers specialized thermal-acoustic insulating materials for public transport (trains, buses, and trams) and white goods (washing machines, dishwashers, dryers).
