Lysgården is one of the most modern and innovative office buildings in the world due to its unusual design. It is part of the Sluppen district in Trondheim, Norway, known as New Trondheim. This area connects technology and industry and focuses on buildings of the future. Approximately 6000 Rockfon absorbers are installed, suspended in the airy and bright rooms of the building. Their careful suspension creates a sharp pattern with a unique atmosphere. The absorbers shade the glass roof and divide the light into small strips of sun and shadow, creating the same effect as leaves in the crowns of trees in the forest.
The fundamental element of this captivating building is light combined with glass. The building's design consists of six floors, and each office floor has the option to customize its interior with various solutions to accommodate 80 to 180 workspaces.

The building is the result of a collaboration between Kjeldsberg AS and Veidekke Eiendom, with tenants including Veidekke, Sweco, DNV GL, and Kinly. Lysgården has extraordinary qualities concerning architecture, material selection, and technical solutions from Siemens. The main idea of the project was to use modern technologies to save energy. The goal for Lysgården was to become one of the most modern office buildings in the world with all technologies available through Siemens' applications. The application can control entry, lighting, and temperature, as well as reserve meeting rooms. The magnificent cafeteria also creates a “wow effect.” But most importantly, people feel good in this building.
For architect Kjell Bertelsen from HUS Arkitekter, it was essential to create good working spaces with plenty of natural light. There is also a lot of exposed concrete on the walls and ceilings, which, in addition to providing a nice visual expression, ensures a more stable temperature and better indoor climate. The result is an efficient and stylish building that stands out as a landmark.
The system of many suspended sound-absorbing absorbers is based on precise suspension. It creates a clean pattern with a unique light ambiance. The ambition was to find new ways to create pleasant and comfortable spaces. Thousands of Rockfon absorbers thus float under the glass roof like sunshades, sharing the same effect as leaves in the crowns of trees in a sunlit forest.
The building boasts both an ecological passive house certificate and a BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) Excellent certification. The certification was awarded because Lysgården utilizes entirely new technologies to become the most modern office building in the world.

With approximately 6000 acoustic absorbers suspended from the ceiling, the building Lysgården has exceptionally good sound absorption. This is one of the cornerstones of an open office environment. The absorbers reduce noise caused by colleagues and absorb reverberation, thus ensuring a pleasant and healthy indoor climate.
Thanks to the combination of stunning aesthetics and technical parameters, the absorbers are ideal for modern office buildings. In the Lysgården building, absorbers Rockfon Contour® are installed in the open offices, while Rockfon Multiflex absorbers are installed in the atrium. Together, they create a perfect harmony of minimalist appearance and design freedom.
