Ostrava - The Cadastral Office for the Moravian-Silesian Region is preparing to close its office in Bruntál. For personnel, economic, and operational reasons, it is set to shut down at the end of September. Its agenda will be taken over by the office in Krnov in the Bruntál area. Alžběta Zavadilová informed ČTK about this today on behalf of the cadastral office.

The cadastral office is currently negotiating with the city of Bruntál on the possibility of establishing a contact point in the city’s premises. "Following the ongoing digitization of real estate cadastre data and the electronic services we offer, the need and interest of clients to visit cadastral offices in person is significantly decreasing. Specifically, at the office being closed, there has been a decline of more than a quarter from 2021 to 2025. We are also proceeding with the closure for personnel reasons, to ensure sufficient administrative, economic, and management activities for both cadastral offices and the interchangeability of employees," Zavadilová said.

She added that there are also economic reasons for closing the office. The Bruntál office is located in a historic building with high heating costs, and the building additionally requires major repairs.

"By relocating the two cadastral offices into one building, there will also be savings on costs associated with operating data services, as well as with the equipment and operation of the computer network," Zavadilová added. She reminded that in the case of a necessary personal visit, it is possible to turn to any office of the Cadastral Office for the Moravian-Silesian Region.

"Currently, 99 percent of outputs from the cadastre are provided electronically, thus not at the counter of the cadastral office. Likewise, all submissions to the cadastral office can be made electronically, with clients receiving a 20 percent discount on the submission of an application for registration when executed electronically via the Cadastre and Surveying Portal or data mailbox," Zavadilová stated.
