Clubovka 2025: MAIO architects - přednáška v SNG

MAIO is an architectural studio focused on inclusive spatial strategies that support the resilience and adaptability of projects. Their projects cover a wide range of assignments—from urbanism and architecture to furniture design and research. A priority is to challenge established prejudices, embrace the diversity of social structures, and respond to the changing complexities of everyday life through clear and resilient architectural solutions.
At the helm of MAIO are Maria Charneco, Alfredo Lérida, Guillermo López, and Anna Puigjaner, who was nominated as a finalist for the Rolex Mentor & Protégé initiative in 2016 and won the Harvard GSD Wheelwright Prize. MAIO members actively combine practice with academic, research, and editorial activities. From 2011 to 2016, they were editors of the journal Quaderns d’Arquitectura i Urbanisme and currently teach at ETH Zürich, ETSAB/ETSAV (Barcelona), and the research center Elisava in Barcelona. In an international context, they have presented at several prestigious forums such as MoMA, MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Royal Academy, Art Institute of Chicago, Storefront for Art and Architecture, Triennale di Milano, CIVA, and the Venice Biennale.
