Salon dřevostaveb 2022
The festival and selective showcase of contemporary wooden architecture, intended for all interested in modern wooden buildings and a sustainable lifestyle, will take place from March 25 to 26 at the Holešovice Prague Market (Hall 13). It will offer a rich program with a number of foreign and local guests. The ceremonial opening will take place on Thursday evening, March 24, at the Center for Architecture and Urban Planning (CAMP) with the participation of Carl Bäckstrand, an architect and one of the founders of the internationally successful Swedish studio White Arkitekter.
The exhibition, combined with a series of lectures and accompanying programs for adults and children, will showcase 23 prominent realizations of wooden buildings from Czech and Slovak architectural firms, as well as 3 progressive foreign projects in Holešovice. The design of the installation in the expansive Hall 13 is undertaken by architect Tomáš Bém, who has this year drawn inspiration from a large sailboat setting off towards a better future for sustainable architecture and innovative ideas. As the festival's director and founder, architect Pavel Horák, states: "We believe that this year's Wooden House Salon will once again be an inspiring platform for personal meetings between experts, investors, architects, and the general public after a long period that has not favored cultural events. Whether you are planning to build, looking for an architect, a construction company, a business partner, inspiration, or just want to have fun in interesting spaces that will be filled with the scent of wood for three days, you are very welcome!"
Part of the Salon will be the Wooden Architecture Yearbook 2022, which is a printed supplement to the festival and at the same time an independent publication presenting a curatorial selection of the most distinctive wooden buildings of recent times. Additionally, it features interesting interviews with leading figures in the domestic architectural scene and this year exceptionally also with architects of the Swedish studio White Architekter.
