- Is it even possible to exhibit architecture? - And what is the purpose of exhibiting architecture in an era characterized by an overload of information of very different quality? - Can a combination of expert texts, plans, photographs, models, visualizations, films, audio recordings, light installations, and interactive technologies sufficiently mediate the architectural experience?
Two dozen significant personalities from the fields of architecture, urbanism, and art are seeking answers to these fundamental questions. The exhibition works with the space of Gočár's gallery as a living artifact – individual buildings of the complex become part of the exhibition and respond to the legacy of Josef Gočár. Renowned creators present their specific views on the presentation of architecture through installations, videos, augmented reality, light and sound installations, as well as classic artistic forms. The curatorial concept is based on the belief that the quality of architectural space fundamentally influences our existence and social context. The goal is not only a technical description of buildings but the mediation of the essential experience of a place in its full context and social relationships. A rich accompanying program for the general public and professionals will be part of the project, including guided tours, an international conference, and also a companion publication with a catalog of the exhibition and essays by both Czech and foreign theorists.
