The architectural competition for the Dobříš City House has been evaluated

The competition jury was composed of experts in the field of architecture, including renowned authorities – Prof. Ing. arch. Ladislav Lábus, Ing. arch. Josef Pleskot, JUDr. PhDr. Jiří Plos, and MgA. Ing. arch. Pavel Nasadil. The jury was also suitably represented by political representatives – the mayor of the town, Mgr. Jaroslav Melša, and a member of the Dobříš Town Council, PhDr. Jan Bureš. Future users of the house were represented by representatives from the library, the mother center, and the Local Action Group Brdy-Vltava.
At the beginning of January this year, the first round of the architectural competition took place with the aim of selecting optimal proposals for the second round. Interest in the competition from architects was significant, as a total of 63 proposals were submitted. The jury evaluated the proposals according to the criteria set forth in the competition conditions, with special regard to whether the idea of the architectural and urbanistic solution met the requirements and proposed objectives of the assignment, while also respecting the relationships with the broader environment and achieving their optimal harmonization. In this regard, the jury rated 7 submitted competition proposals as the most suitable, which advanced to the second round.
Subsequently, on March 6, 2009, at its second meeting, the jury awarded three projects, of which the first was recommended for realization:

1. 4DS spol. s r.o. (Ing. arch. MGA. Marek Barták, Ing. Vojtěch Navrátil, Bc. Václav Toufar, Mgr.A. Luboš Zemen) – the proposal best presents the phenomenon of the Urban House in this location
2. Ing. arch. Zbyňka Ryšky in cooperation with Ing. arch. Martina Portiková and Ing. arch. Martin Zamazal
3. htsA/herman tomášek seidl architects (Ing. arch. Aleš Tomášek, Robert Seidl, Ing. arch. Ivo Herman)

Meeting of the competition jury

The final decision, however, was left to the Dobříš Town Council. On April 7, 2009, the council members approved the ranking recommended by the competition jury and proposed for realization the competition proposal authored by 4DS spol. s r.o. – Ing. arch. MGA. Marek Barták, Ing. Vojtěch Navrátil, Bc. Václav Toufar, Mgr.A. Luboš Zemen.

On Friday, April 10, 2009, a festive opening of the exhibition of all 63 competition proposals took place. The exhibition took place directly in the location related to the proposals, namely in the building of the former cinema. From Wednesday, April 15 to Sunday, May 10, the proposals that advanced to the 2nd round of the competition will be displayed in the lobby of the Dobříš City Library. The exhibition is accessible every day, including weekends, from 11:00 to 23:00.
