Beroun - The Beroun City Hall will announce an architectural competition for a new look for Wagner Square. The winner should be known by the summer, city spokesperson Jitka Soukupová informed CTK today. Based on the study, more detailed project documentation should be created, and then construction work will begin.
According to Soukupová, the city has established a working group that will prepare the revitalization of Wagner Square. The square should rid itself of unsightly remnants of the past, such as poor paving or monolithic flower pots, and transportation should also be addressed differently.
The renovation of Wagner Square and the area in front of the Czech Insurance Company was already considered by the previous city leadership. The main question was how cars would travel across the square. Former mayor Šárka Endrlová (Independent Beroun Residents) proposed that a roundabout be created in the square along with two separate roads in both directions.
