Kralupy nad Vltavou – Kralupy nad Vltavou are looking for a contractor for project documentation for a new primary school; they have announced a tender. The school, which will be created by transforming the former vocational school, will serve approximately 540 students. The cost of the documentation will be several million crowns, the exact amount will come from the competition. The estimated costs for the reconstruction of the building are 600 million crowns, the spokesman for the Kralupy town hall, Aleš Levý, told ČTK.
The city management currently expects the start of actual construction to take place in 2026 or 2027. "So far, only the documentation is being tendered, so we do not yet know the start date. The documentation, including the building permit, is expected to take years 2025 to 2026," said the spokesman.
The capacity of Kralupy’s primary schools will not meet demand in the coming years, as the population of the city, including children, is increasing; in many cases, children from surrounding municipalities also attend Kralupy n. V.
The building of the former chemical vocational school in the Kralupy district of Lobeček was acquired by the city from the Central Bohemian Region this spring. The regional authority sold the site to the city for just under 40 million crowns. The price was determined based on an expert assessment.
In recent years, the region has offered some unnecessary real estate properties to municipalities for the establishment of schools or social facilities. For example, the area of the former secondary school was also purchased by Středokluky near Prague. A primary school is already operating there; the municipality previously rented it, and this spring it was sold for 37 million crowns. The municipality will repay the building to the region in annual interest-free installments of 2.5 million crowns over a period of 15 years.
