Five studios presented their designs for the sustainable neighborhood of Smart Líchy

Židlochovice – A total of five studios presented their urban planning and architectural designs for the planned sustainable neighborhood of Chytré Líchy. This neighborhood is set to start developing in the South Moravian town of Židlochovice next year. In their designs, the individual studios aimed to meet the bold goals of the neighborhood related to carbon neutrality, reduction of drinking water consumption, and social diversity. The winning design will be known after the meeting of the Židlochovice City Council, which will take place on May 7.

On Friday, April 16, all five participants in the tender for the urban planning and architectural solution for the Chytré Líchy neighborhood presented their proposals. Specifically, the tender includes the studios of Ing. arch. Dalibor Borák, Kogaa studio, MS plan, Pelčák a partner architects, and Projektil Architekti.

During the design process, all participants continuously consulted their proposals with the client and members of the multidisciplinary team that was preparing the feasibility study for the given location. The applicants also did not have pre-assigned numbers of family houses or apartment buildings. "The proposals quite differ in terms of the built-up areas largely because of this. The gross floor area reaches up to 17,000 m² in one of the proposals, while in another case it is only 10,000 m²," said Pavel Jura, the architect of the town of Židlochovice, who is one of the selection committee members. The entire area covers 3.4 hectares, with a large part expected to consist of greenery and water surfaces.
