Prague – The Prague 8 Town Hall has announced a public competition for the architectural solution of the planned primary school on Rohanský Island. It is expected to have 27 classes, and the supplied project will also include equipment. This is evident from documents published in the public procurement registry on the town hall's website. A new neighborhood is being created on Rohanský Embankment and the island.

In the competition, the town hall is seeking an architectural solution including the interior of the school. The building will have approximately 9,500 m² of gross floor area and will consist of three times nine classrooms. The supplied documents will include a project for the facilities and equipment, which means specialized classrooms, gymnasiums and sports facilities, teachers' apartments, and a kitchen and dining room. The designer will also provide an infrastructure and land plan, including integration into the newly emerging development.

The estimated costs are 38.8 million crowns, and the final price will depend, among other things, on the outcome of the tender process. Interested parties can submit their proposals to the town hall by April 1 of this year.

On the right bank of the Vltava River, next to Karlín and Libeň, the developer Sekyra Group started construction of a new neighborhood last September, where it plans to build approximately 3,200 apartments, eight administrative buildings, and a school. There is also a project for the New Invalidovna by the company Trigema and the Rustonka office complex by the developer J&T Real Estate.

The area of Rohanský Island was a riverbed until the first half of the last century, which was later filled in. In addition to private investments, a municipal park will be created here, where a nearly ten-ton bell referred to as #9801, reminiscent of the bells seized by the Nazis, could be located.
