Prague - Prague will announce a tender with an estimated value of 240 million crowns for the construction of a parking garage for local residents on Vlastina Street in the Dědina housing estate. This was decided by the representatives of the municipal district at today's night meeting. The parking garage is intended to replace the spots that will disappear with the planned construction of a tram line. According to the approved document, construction should begin next year, and the three-story building will offer parking for 290 cars.

The city is planning the construction of a tram line from Divoká Šárka to Dědina, which should start this summer. In the past, the city promised, based on an agreement with Prague 6, to compensate for parking spaces with the construction of a parking garage. According to the approved document, it is supposed to offer three above-ground floors and a partially buried basement. The building is to be covered with climbing greenery.

The Prague City Hall mainly builds so-called P+R parking garages, which are intended primarily for commuters from the Central Bohemia region and are meant to alleviate traffic in the metropolis. Last year, Prague completed the construction of a P+R parking garage for 886 cars in Černý Most for about half a billion crowns. Recently, construction began on another one near the B subway station Nové Butovice, which will offer 400 spaces and cost 293 million crowns. The city plans additional garages, for example in Opatov in the South City or in Zličín.
