In Nymburk, the councilors are to discuss the competition for a new footbridge

Nymburk - In Nymburk, the representatives will discuss, among other things, the current situation regarding the footbridge over the Elbe River, which is in a critical condition and at risk of collapsing. The city administration wants to push for the announcement of an architectural competition for a new crossing.

The current footbridge is in such poor condition that people have been prohibited from using it since December, and in June, navigation on the Elbe River under the bridge was also banned. The areas under the bridge on both banks are also closed.

A debate is also expected about the swimming pool, which was closed in May due to poor condition. The representatives could decide whether the city will reconstruct the pool.

Part of the residents have joined a group on Facebook that aims to seek the removal of Mayor Pavel Fojtík (Change for Nymburk). The opposition wanted to remove the mayor last October. However, the proposal to include such an item was not approved by the representatives at that time, Fojtík was supported by the coalition.
