Number of Submitted Proposals: 29

1st Prize (250,000 CZK) – ARCHTEAM PROJECT OFFICE s.r.o., Brno
Jury's Evaluation: The simple form deliberately isolates the structure from its surroundings, approaching it radically and contrastingly. This contrast, however, simultaneously indicates that diversity is ultimately more stimulating than a uniformly impactful construction at any cost. The architectural solution for the facades distinguishes between the importance of parts of the house and appropriately captures the functional content with its expression. The exterior aesthetics of the house reveal the high quality of the design. The layout is clear, and the communication connections are non-conflicting and logical. The restaurant section does not fully respect the expectations of the competition organizer. However, the submitted proposal allows for its refinement according to the specific needs of the future user without fundamentally impacting the presented concept.

2nd Prize (150,000 CZK) – RADAARCHITEKTI s.r.o., Brno
Jury's Evaluation: The competition proposal introduces a new idea for integrating the social-cultural center into the organism of the square. The spatially liberated ground floor of the extension allows direct access to the building and creates a new quality of public social space. The expression of the building itself is impressive but may be perceived as too appealing. In terms of form, the design positively highlights the clear identity of the existing building and the new extension. The layout is clear and transparent. Nevertheless, the connection of the common space between the two halls and the poorly situated cloakroom in the most quality space of the entire proposal deserve criticism. Another contentious point for the jury is the height of the suspended wall of the new structure at an uncomfortable eye level of visitors and passersby. The acoustic solution of the small hall is also problematic, as a fully glazed wall is presented towards the square. Overall, the proposal is characterized by sophistication and professional handling of the presentation.

3rd Reduced Prize (60,000 CZK) – Ing. arch. Eliška Macková (Ostrava), Ing. arch. Jiří Halfar (Mokré Lazce), Ing. arch. Jiří Stejskalík (Ostrava – Mariánské)
Jury's Evaluation: The generous foyer defined by the facade and landscaping creates a barrier-free access to the building. The "lifting curtain" made of a pre-formed wooden grid conceals a black mysterious box of cultural experience. The layout is simple; however, the location of the ceremonial hall in the corner of the underground space does not correspond to its significance.

3rd Reduced Prize (40,000 CZK) - SIAL architects and engineers spol. s r.o., Liberec
Jury's Evaluation: The exterior expression of the house demonstrates quality, although this is difficult to decipher in the submitted visualizations. The structural solution is simple and resonates with the aesthetics of the building. The layout is clear, and the individual parts logically connect to one another.
