Jihlava - The Vysočina Region is looking for a designer for a new pavilion and parking garage at Jihlava Hospital. The estimated costs for the construction, which could start in 2025, are 1.5 billion crowns, a third of which will be allocated to the parking garage. The region has set aside more than 50 million crowns for the project documentation, said the deputy governor of Vysočina, Hana Hajnová (Pirates), to reporters.

According to her, the construction will be carried out using the BIM method (Building Information Modeling). "That’s why we have set the design period for 1.5 years; it will be quite a demanding task. The deadline for submitting bids will be until December 5," Hajnová said. The so-called BIM method introduces digital technologies into the construction process, creating management of the building's data throughout its lifecycle, from design to demolition. It is intended to prevent errors in project documentation, speed up construction, and bring financial savings.

The new pavilion for rehabilitation, follow-up, and geriatric care, with five above-ground and one underground floor, is intended to replace the current rehabilitation building, to which the hospital's management and offices could relocate. The new pavilion will be located near the existing rehabilitation building. It will also include a wing with two operating rooms.

Next to the pavilion, there will be an area designated for a parking garage with about 400 parking spaces. New buildings will connect with other hospital facilities through new connecting corridors.

The construction could be partially covered by grants that the region will apply for. Hajnová expects support for follow-up care in the Integrated Regional Operational Program.

According to the annual report of Jihlava Hospital, the rehabilitation department cared for 282 people last year, while the geriatrics and follow-up care department had about 550 cases. The rehabilitation department has 20 beds. The geriatrics and follow-up care department has 70 beds, five of which are social, and another 15 beds are designated for palliative care.
