We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Dear Architects… - The Ethics of Architecture”, which will take place on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 18:00 in the premises of Gallery of Architecture Brno, Starobrněnská 18. The second year of the project Dear Architects... (the first exhibition took place in June 2017 at the Gallery of Architecture Brno) will focus on the ethics of architecture and will attempt to show, through dialogue, the ethical dilemmas that architects face in their practice. Selected social science researchers discuss ethical topics related to the social and political implications of architecture with the authors of projects that represent certain impacts associated with project realization – public space as a “tool of control,” gentrification and commodification, privatization and commercialization, depoliticization and the managerialization of local governance, tourism in border regions, or projects in undemocratic regimes. The exhibition will be held from September 20 to October 7, 2018, at the Gallery of Architecture Brno and from October 10 to October 26, 2018, at the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague (in the Lapidary of the Bethlehem Chapel). The accompanying program will also address other ethical aspects of architectural practice. The exhibition will be open Tuesday–Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 and will run until October 7, 2018, after which it will be presented at the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague. Admission to the exhibition is voluntary.
