Arnold's villa in Brno will host an exceptional exhibition from December 4, 2024, to January 31, 2025, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the significant Brno builder Josef Arnold. This exhibition will showcase the photographic work of David Konečný, which includes 120 photographs of the most important buildings executed by Arnold in the territory of Brno.
Josef Arnold, one of the key figures in 19th-century Brno architecture, influenced the city's appearance during its rapid growth with his works. In his creations, historical styles meet innovative technical approaches. Among his most significant realizations are, for example, the Bishop's Boys' Seminary, Kounic Palace, and the first villa colony including his own villa.
The exhibition "Josef Arnold 200" provides a unique opportunity to glimpse into the rich history of Brno architecture and admire the aesthetics of buildings that still shape the urban space today. Come and discover the legacy that Josef Arnold left us.
The curator of the exhibition is Michal Doležel, graphic design was created by Hrdina Pavlík, and the language editing was done by Ema Přikrylová. The exhibition is organized by the Museum of the City of Brno. The opening will take place on December 4, 2024, at 5 PM in Arnold's villa at Drobného Street 26.
